North of Iran(2)/ Kelardasht

 

Kelardasht  is a city in and the capital of Kelardasht District, in Chalus County, Mazandaran Province, Iran.

















Originally a farming area, in recent years much of its land was sold in small lots to build numerous villas which are occupied by summer visitors trying to escape the heat of Tehran and points further south.

Its attractions mainly consist of its natural beauty including Alamkooh Mountain (the second tallest peak in Iran (4850 m)), Abbasabad Road, Valasht lake and cooler climate.
But picnicking and mountain climbing in the area surrounding Rud Barak are also popular, as well as in the lush Abbasabad Forest nearby.

This summer we went on a trip around Iran. I have done some sketches in this trip. I organized some of them and here are some works from the north of Iran.

Iran has many different climates and the weather in the north is totally different from the center of Iran. 

I had shared some works of Yazd here ,but you find that there is a different style of architecture in the north, as a result of different climate. There are many beautiful jungles and mountains near Caspian Sea.

Yazd, The City of WindCatchers (bâdgir)

Yazd is a historical city in Iran. The city is located 270 km southeast of Isfahan.

Because of generations of adaptations to its desert surroundings, Yazd is an architecturally unique city. This city is sometimes called "the bride of the Kavir".

It is also known in Iran for the high quality of its handicrafts, especially silk weaving, and its sweet shops.

Yazd is of foremost importance as a centre of Persian architecture. Because of its climate, it has one of the largest networks of qanats in the world, and Yazdi qanat makers are considered the most skilled in Iran.

To deal with the extremely hot summers, many old buildings in Yazd have magnificent windcatchers, and large underground areas. 

The city is also home to prime examples of yakhchals , the latter of which were used to store ice retrieved from glaciers in the nearby mountains. Yazd is also one of the largest cities built almost entirely out of adobe.

We had a trip to Yazd these days and I had a chance to see many beautiful places there and do some sketches.

On the Road

Two weeks ago, I and some talented "landscape design" students of Khorasgan University and their other  teacher (Mr. Ahmadi)  decided to go on a trip to the historical city of Zavareh.

 

We were going  by bus and I found really wonderful natural views beyond the windows. I tried to capture some views and here are some of my tiny sketches of this experience.

 

I have worked a little on them in my computer but the original ones are with pencil and graphite.

 

 Zavareh is a beautiful city near Esfahan with wonderful views of  historical houses, mosques, alleys and also the old bazaar. Here you can find more about this city.

Autumn is comming

Autumn is comming and there are many beautiful aspects here in public gardens in Isfahan specially around the river. River has been dried, but it cannot reduce from its greatness and beauties.
